Information For Performers

  • We are at 1443 Wellington Crescent in Winnipeg. I know what you're thinking! No, it's not that part of Wellington. It's not a mansion. We're literally on the other side of the tracks from the mansions, just west of Lanark, on the river.
  • Our mission is to promote local music and to have fun doing so.
  • The space will accommodate up to about 30 audience members.
  • The performance area is about 5' x 11' (6' x 11' if you don't mind being almost knee to knee with the first row of the audience). This has worked very well for up to four piece bands, but could accommodate larger groups with a bit of forethought. Five has been our maximum so far! Drum kits are unwise though...
  • Un-amplified usually works well, but some light amplification is ok too. Bring your own mic and amp!
  • The house does not take a cut - you take all the door receipts. So far, our smallest audience has been 23, but there's always a risk that on a given night if the stars are malign nobody will show.... Not at all likely, but no guarantees!
  • Ticket prices are up to you, understanding the balance between getting more people in at a lower price versus potentially less people at a higher ticket price per person. Most bands have charged $20-25.
  • Marketing is a shared responsibility. We have a mailing list, but the odds of a sell-out are much higher if you promote the event as well.
  • You are welcome to sell any merchandise or CDs you might have.
  • The show typically begins 8:00 pm and our recommendation is to have two roughly 45 minute sets ready, but this is very flexible.
  • The atmosphere is both intimate and relaxed. In our experience these audiences tend to appreciate a bit of banter and interaction, but whatever you're comfortable with is fine.
For our outdoor "Schottland on the Green" series:
  • The performance space is in our backyard, which feels like a meadow in the forest.
  • This means shade, which may also mean mosquitoes - consider yourself forewarned!
  • Some power is available for amps etc, but keep it light, this is not Glastonbury ;-)
